Reformation means standing against the spirit of the age, so pastors and church leaders must join together to encourage, equip, and embolden one another in the work of the Reformation. Most importantly, a society brings the Word of God and prayer to bear on the leaders themselves, strengthening them for the work of a faithful shepherd. |

Reformation starts in your local church community. The Reformation Societies are the means to achieving the renewal of the Church, which is our Lord’s Bride. Furthermore, our Gospel is timeless in its message, relevance, and sufficiency for the building of Christ’s Church, the same yesterday, today, and forever. The Biblical standard of Gospel preaching, teaching and worship are embodied in the Solas of the Protestant Reformation and are now stated in the Cambridge Declaration of 1996. For in Scripture alone, we learn of a salvation that is by grace alone, received through faith alone, because of Christ alone, and in all this, to God be the Glory alone. Here We Stand, like-minded in His service and confident in His Work. |

A disciple of Jesus was first of all a follower. Literally! He would walk when Jesus walked, sat when Jesus sat, ate when Jesus ate, and slept where and when Jesus slept. A disciple then, and today, is a believer and close follower of Jesus; though other less committed relationships are indicated (Matthew 8:21; 10:1; 12:49; Luke 14:27; Acts 6:1).
What Kind of Follower are you? Who is it that you follow? What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus: a disciple?
The first requirement for killing your sin is conversion unto Christ. The second requirement is having a daily commitment to live for Christ. This begins, and is maintained by the following disciplines, with the Holy Spirit’s assistance.
The Bible is clear regarding what the phrase “killing your sin” means. It is equally clear why we are to kill our sin. But how does the follower of Christ carry out this important and noteworthy responsibility and command from God? Do the Scriptures give any practical direction as to how believers kill their sin? The answer is a hearty yes.
Freedom from the dominion or domination of sin is not the same thing as freedom from sin’s presence and influence. The presence and influence, or power of sin, remains where God has banished sin’s dominion authority and control. Although the power of sin has been weakened, yet its nature has not changed.
